“Recognizing the Guardians of Medication Safety”
On September 25, 2023, the College of Pharmacy [SDPGIPS] celebrated Pharmacist Day with great enthusiasm and reverence. In the realm of healthcare, there exist a group of unsung heroes who play a vital role in ensuring our well-being. These individuals are pharmacists, and this special day recognizes the invaluable contributions of pharmacists to the healthcare system.
The event was graced by the presence of esteemed guests, including Prof. Simmy Kharab, Head of the Biochemistry Department; Prof. B.M. Vashisht, Head of the Community Medicine Department; Prof. Jagat Singh from the ENT department; and Dr. Gajendra Singh, DSW & Principal of SDPGIPS, along with other faculty members, to celebrate this memorable day.
To celebrate the contributions of pharmacists and raise awareness about their vital role in healthcare, our college recently organized a vibrant and engaging event filled with competitions. Pharmacist Day was marked with enthusiasm as students from various disciplines came together to participate in an array of activities, ranging from quizzes to rangoli-making.
Quiz: A Battle of Knowledge and Quick Thinking
The day kicked off with a spirited quiz competition that tested the participants' knowledge about pharmaceuticals, healthcare regulations, and recent developments in the field. The questions ranged from the history of pharmacy to the latest breakthroughs in drug discovery. The winners of the quiz battle were Team D that included Sahil (20 batch), Rawal (21 batch), Sapna and Nistha from 23 batch.
Rangoli Making: Blending Artistry with Science
The essence of Pharmacist Day extended beyond academic knowledge. The rangoli-making competition was a unique opportunity for students to blend artistry with science. Participants created beautiful and intricate rangolis inspired by pharmaceutical symbols and motifs. The vibrant colors and designs were a testament to the creative minds that lie beneath the white coats. The winners of the Rangoli Making Competition were Team C that included Aahana Vij, Sakshi, Tarana and Vandana from 21 batch.

Mehandi Making: Adding a Touch of Culture
Amidst the scientific fervor of the day, the Mehandi competition brought a touch of culture and tradition. It showcased the diversity of talent among our students as they adorned their hands with intricate henna designs, incorporating elements related to pharmacy. The winner was Saruti Ranga from 21 batch.

Poster Making: Communicating Pharmacy to World
The poster-making competition was a visual feast of creativity and communication. Students created informative posters that highlighted the importance of pharmacists in healthcare. The winner was Ravi Dutt from 21 batch.
