Pharmacist Day Celebrated at SDPGIPS with Engaging Quiz and Thoughtful Discussions


On September 25th, SDPGIPS marked Pharmacist Day with a series of engaging activities held in Lecture Theatre 1 (LT 1). The event, aimed at spreading awareness and highlighting the vital role pharmacists play in healthcare, was filled with insightful discussions and participation from both undergraduate and postgraduate students.

The day commenced with an open quiz, testing students’ knowledge on various aspects of pharmacy, healthcare, and medicines. This interactive session set the tone for the rest of the event, as participants actively engaged in learning while competing in a friendly manner.

Following the quiz, students delivered speeches focused on this year's theme. Aahana Vij and Vandana, both from the 2021 batch, presented on the important topics of patient counseling and awareness of generic medicines, shedding light on how pharmacists can play a pivotal role in ensuring patients receive the right information about their medications. Their presentation emphasized the significance of proper communication between healthcare professionals and patients to ensure the safe and effective use of drugs.

Shweta, a postgraduate student from the M.Pharm program, spoke on the topic of reducing drug abuse. Her speech explored strategies to combat drug misuse and the responsibility of pharmacists in advocating for the safe use of medications, highlighting the profession's role in preventing harmful substance abuse.

The event concluded with an acknowledgment by Mr. Naveen Khatri, who expressed his appreciation for the speeches delivered by the students.
