 Organized by: College of Pharmacy

 Date: 9th October 2025

Occasion: World Mental Health Day (10th October)

Guest Speaker: Mr Raj Alampuria, Psychologist

In the spirit of World Mental Health Day 2025, Swami Dayanand Post Graduate Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences hosted a valuable awareness session called "Mind Matters: Importance of Mental Well-being," led by Principal Dr Naveen Khatri. This was not just limited to a session; this was a purposeful event to draw the attention of all the students and faculty members to show how important it is to support mental health as a component of our total wellbeing in today's digital and stressful world.

During the session, the renowned psychologist Mr Raj Alampuria discussed the significance of mental well-being and signs of mental health, along with the common mental health conditions that people encounter in the fast-paced society. He went further into the interlink between mental and physical well-being by describing how our physical illnesses may influence mental stability and how emotional stress can affect the normal body functions.

This session encouraged open discussion and self-reflection among students and faculty equally. Mr Alampuria also talked about the societal impacts along with personal impacts of mental health challenges, emphasising empathy, awareness, and early assistance in case of any disturbance. He shared helpful advice for maintaining mental wellness, including practising mindfulness, stress management, and leading a healthy lifestyle, in addition to seeking assistance from professionals whenever necessary instead of ignoring such conditions.

The session ended with a heartfelt vote of gratitude presented by Dr Manish Dhall to the speaker for his beneficial and impressive presentation. The College of Pharmacy's faculties gave Mr Raj Alampuria and his team a certificate of gratitude as a thank you.

Positively, the event ended by highlighting the importance of mental health for leading a balanced, meaningful, and satisfying life.
